Making Insect or Bug Spray with Essential Oils in Philippines

Aromatherapist Cebu - It is blending time. We are making a DIY insect spray or bug spray at home. This is one of the many recipes we have and hope you can make this on your own. Note, no harmful or toxic substances used in this spray. They are only made from pure essential oils, water and polysorbate 80. We also encourage recycling. Please use any PET bottles that are still usable.

INSECT SPRAY or BUG SPRAY DIY RECIPE BLEND


Ingredients:


5 drops of Citronella (Cymbopogon nardus)
5 drops of Tea Tree (Melaleuca alternifolia)
4 drops of Cinnamon Bark (Cinnamomum zeylanicum)
4 drops of Peppermint (Mentha × piperita)
6 drops of Orange (Citrus × sinensis)
3 ml Dispersant or Surfactant- Polysorbate 80 (can be eliminated)
100 ml distilled water

Container: 120 ml PET bottle. Recycle old ones that can still be useful.

*Shelf life for this blend is 2-3 months only.

The beauty of this DIY is that it works as a Room Spray too. This is like a double purpose because it does smell good especially for the bathroom. Don't take our word for it, try it.

Why these essential oils?


Citronella - it has properties known to repel mosquitoes and other insects.
Tea Tree - if flies are an issue at home, this one is a good natural insecticide. Plus for mosquito bites, it can help with healing.
Cinnamon Bark - well, it doesn't kill spiders, it will make them stay way because of its scent. Of course, it works well against bugs and other fleas too.
Peppermint - ants don't like it as well as bugs and mosquitoes.
Orange - We hate cockroaches and this oil is perfect to shoo them away plus it gives a vibrant aroma in our room too.

Aromatherapy Philippines- According to studies, it is believed that the leading cause of  diseases and illnesses by people can be traced back to stress. Those who have experienced much with it has a higher risk of getting sick of chronic health conditions. And it is obvious because it makes us really out of balance and it can affect a lot of areas in our life. Just like nowadays, people turn to Aromatherapy to at least reduce stress.

Doing Aromatherapy Baths and Massage at Home

Aromatherapy Cebu- How do you like taking a hot shower after a tiring day at work? How about bathing while using a few drops of pure aromatic essential oils of your choice? We can't imagine how relaxing it is along with a hot bath. These aromatic baths could help us experience a relief from stress and anxious feelings, even with muscle pain or even improving our sensuality with our partners.

Is it safe to practice aromatherapy baths at home?


Adding essential oils to our bath is one of the many ways we can do for aromatherapy safely while enjoying its therapeutic or aromatic benefits. Simply adding up to 5 drops of pure essential oil to our bath tub or a pail of water will do. Make sure to observe the safety guidelines of the essential oils. Not all oils are suitable for bathing. Always take caution and do a lot of research. But will help you with it.
